Class of 2017 ROLEmodels Photoshoot
It was January 1st, 2016. I was in Dillard’s amongst the throngs of shoppers at the New Year’s Day Sale. (Sidebar: How did I not know this existed until now??? An additional 50% off all sale items in the store? NO WAY! Ok, back to the topic at hand.) Browsing the sale racks (I mean, what else would I be in there for?), I noticed the romper. And not just any romper. It was maroon. It was sparkly. It had pockets. I swiped it from the rack with no idea of who was going to wear it, but it was mine and the seed had been planted. These two things I knew: sequins and urban. My vision for the Class of 2017 ROLEmodels photo shoot was starting to come together!
I love incorporating a high school senior spokesmodel program into my business. It allows me to reach new clients by the word of mouth advertising they provide, and get to know the girls in my program and spend time with them! It’s the best!
Over the course of the next several months lots happened. I gathered together an amazing wardrobe of sequins and bold colors. Nine girls from area high schools committed to my ROLEmodel program. Click HERE to read more about it! A friend of mine is the manager at a luxury high rise apartment building in Dallas, and he allowed us to shoot there. The date was set and we were ready!
I could never pull something like this off alone. My crew included:
- Glam by Cass Marie and Melissa, hair & make-up artists
- Alex, Photography Assistant of the Year
We all arrived after lunch and bunkered down in a vacant apartment (floor to ceiling windows, amazing views, yeah, my first apartment was ground floor and looked at a dumpster), and set up to get ready. There was about 4 hours of hair and makeup, so we passed the time by playing Heads Up, eating junk food, and just getting to know each other. The girls had fun watching their new friends get glammed up!
The day was long (I survived on Sprinkles Cupcakes), hot (I mean, it was June in Dallas, so yes), but so much fun! I’m so thankful for this team of high school senior spokesmodels and the amazing help of my stylists and assistant. Some of these spokesmodels went way out of their comfort zone for this shoot, and totally rocked it! Here are some behind the scene pictures from our phones and Go Pros.
We ended the day on this spectacular rooftop in downtown Dallas, and it could not have been more beautiful! I can’t wait to share the gorgeous images we captured together in my next post. If you are interested in joining my Class of 2018 ROLEmodel team, please contact me today for all the info!
